Use trigger pulses to hit a tethered ball – as its elastic snaps it back & forth, impacts with its square boundary are output as triggers/gates (1 for each wall + 1 for the center). The physics can be adjusted and modulated, which means that the ball can grow & shrink in mass while the boundary changes size and the elastic gets snappier or looser and the impact changes direction & velocity. A memory dial can store 8 sets of physics that you can deploy quickly with a turn of the knob. The ball’s distance from center, horizontal position, and vertical position can also be used to modulate other devices.
