4 sets of eight voltages are arranged in columns, set by silver dials. Using the red buttons or triggers/gates, you can morph to the voltages of one set from those of another set, in sequence (STEP jack) or randomly (RAND STEP jack) or jumping to specified columns (numbered bottom jacks). The TIME control determines how quickly voltages swing from one value to another.
This means you can make patches that turn on a dime, that you can set up various presets which are ready to go at a moment’s notice, and that you can perform interesting modulation patterns that are otherwise difficult to come by.
